Ⅱ.The School Educational Target
We intend to establish a progressive school education system so that it can appropriately respond to and solve educational problems caused by social changes such as information technology, globalization and falling birthrate, by improving our educational good points in consideration with daily educational results.
1.
We want our school to give its students self-driven lessons in which they can learn, think and understand by themselves, so that they can deepen their co-operation with their fellow classmates and assist each other more.
2.
We want our school to be a school in which the teachers and the educational staff can understand the real progress of the students, improve the educational level of the students through their creative efforts and achieve big accomplishments through that educational process.
3.
We want our school to be a school in which the parents of our students can cooperate with the teachers through the school educational policy, feel their children's educational growth and send them to school each day with peace of mind. 4.
We want our school to be a school in which the teachers can flexibly accept assistance from neighboring citizens in a cooperative atmosphere and successfully take such support into consideration to improve the education of our children.

Ⅲ. Basic Policy of This Year
1. Key objectives
(1) To improve the students’ achievements.
(2) To help the students build a healthy body and mind.
(3) To maintain the school’s safety and security.

2. Improve the Students’ Knowledge through the School Achievement Plan
(1) The establishment of the fundamentals and basics of education
- It is important to foster reading, writing, talking and arithmetic abilities of the students to improve their "ability to deal with everyday life in the future" which is stipulated in the national educational approach. For this purpose, all the teachers and staff of our school systematically work together following the above mentioned fundamentals and basics of education, and are planning to raise the students’ level of knowledge.
- We start the lessons that would be better understood by each class member through a combination of small-group guidance, supportive teachers, exchange lessons with other schools, and so on.
- We guide our students through the basic educational program which use the scholastic achievement tests of Edogawa-Ku, Tokyo-City and Japan so that teachers can grasp the students’ knowledge level and their basic educational steps of progress.
(2) Systematic Program for Educational Progress
- We progress through the educational program following our weekly teaching plan to realize our educational objectives, and also follow the annual teaching plan regarding academic subjects, moral subjects and comprehensive study subjects.

3. Building of Lifestyle and Learning Discipline, Fostering of Students’ Mental Growth and Sociability
(1)Fostering friendly sociability
We motivate our students to have good self-control, and to have smooth and productive relationships with others, for example, with teachers or neighboring citizens. For this purpose, it is important for us to lead them toward having an independent spirit and being self-reliance.
- We try to foster an independent spirit with which they can actively do a good job without instruction.
- We try to foster their humanity and sociability with which they can discover the good points of others, rely on others, have respect for others and assist each other according to their own conscience.
- We try to foster the students' ability to recognize their own good points, and to encourage the development of a sense of self-affirmation and to realize a sense of their own usefulness in society.
- We try to foster the students to have patience and be persistent when they perform some task and study lessons in the school.
(2) Fostering good relationships with the younger students, the older students and the neighboring citizens
- We try to play tournament team games or sports, for example, athletic meetings, in groups of each age class divided in two (that is, “new friends or smile groups”) because of single class system each age with ingenuity. We also intend to get the students’ interested in volunteer work, thereby encouraging them to have good communication with different aged students and good relationships with the neighboring citizens. As a result of the above, we can foster a positive feeling of loving the people around them.
- We try to help the students’ feel like they are a real member of a community through cleaning work experience around the school and visiting nursing homes to provide assistance.
(3) Adopting a desirable lifestyle.
- Since food is essential to development of intellectuality and morality, and for physical training for the students, everyday we try to provide various nutritious lunches using seasonal produce.
- Through the rhythms of daily school life, we try to help the students get into a habit of doing homework with the cooperation with their parents.
(4) Establishing a system for providing consistent support to handicapped students.
- We will set up a dedicated school committee, employ a dedicated support coordinator and have a school research program to enhance counseling assistance.
- We will actively use a school counselor to improve consulting for our handicapped students.

4. Our Efforts to Foster Pride and Awareness in our Educational System
(1)Educational practice following the planned curriculum
- We will set individual targets for this year and put into practice the planned education following the principles prepared by the school principal, through interviews with the principal and vice principal and the class work including the parents.
- Not only for the merits of a small school, but also to provide early solutions to educational problems, we adopt the "dual teachers system" for specific courses for each junior, medium, senior class block to deepen our students' understanding and to help them grow.
- We will run the school management in accordance with the school management policy, self-enumeration system and school age/ class /special course management. That is, we will clearly manage the educational levels together with our faculty members through the “Plan―Do―Check―Act” system.
(2) Establishment of Research and Training System
“Ways of helping the students grow” are as follows;
- To help them improve their ability to learn by themselves.
- To foster their ability to think deeply.
- To foster their ability to express their own thoughts and ideas in a way that can be clearly understood.
To achieve the above three points, we implement education in the school study based on our research. In particular, we prepare handouts detailing lesson systems and daily life guidelines that govern the daily educational activity, and implement them immediately in accordance with their purpose and by using the system.
(3)Continuous Career Improvement through Research and Implementation
Teachers have their own specialty and favorite area, and should deepen their knowledge of that specialty and improve their originality through self-improvement. They will actively participate in the research conducted in Edogawa-Ku and other outside training programs. In addition to put their research results into practice for daily education and use them to improve their teaching skill, we will continuously return them to daily teaching.
(4) Training in accordance with Career Stages
-Teachers will attend annual workshops prepared in accordance with the teacher’s educational career and improve their qualifications through voluntary training.
- In addition, to improve their teaching skill, they will attend to lesson training sessions in accordance with the stage of their career.

5. Management towards an Open School
- Through the school opening event, the explanatory meeting of the school, the supporting board of trustees of the school and publicly available affairs and events of school, we will open all of our educational activities to public inspection.
- Since the Internet homepage of our school is the main source of information regarding the school to the outside society, we will try to update that page regularly.
- As for the “Scientific and Educational Garden on the Riverside of Shin-Nakagawa River”, we will utilize it for daily education with the support of neighborhood volunteers.
- By intimate exchange with various neighboring facilities (kindergartens, nurseries, special nursing homes), we will try to help the students develop a warm heart and welfare spirit which comes from respecting the rights of others.
- Through the support of library volunteers, storytelling volunteers, learning support staff and neighborhood volunteers, we will create many and unique activities in several educational areas.
